My Second Contribution to Jetpack Plugin

Today, Jetpack 11.8 was released. The highlight of this release was new form element styling options. You can read the release post on the Jetpack Blog.

    My Contribution

My contribution this time was related to the form element styling, but it was unplanned. I was testing the Jetpack 11.8 beta version with a focus on the new form element styles. During the testing, I noticed something that should have been changed.

I raised a flag with the developers. At the same time, I thought to try my hands on the code lying behind it, and submitted a code change request. Jetpack developers were kind enough to review and approve the code change request I submitted.

My first-ever Contribution to Jetpack Plugin

Today, Jetpack 8.5 was released. The highlight of this release was the introduction of podcast player block. You can read the release post on the Jetpack Blog.

    My Contribution

My contribution has nothing to do with the podcast player block. It was also unplanned. I used the Recipe shortcode provided by Jetpack on a blog post for a friend and noticed something that could have been improved. I scanned the code for the Recipe shortcode and found the lines that needed a change.

I went on creating an issue in the GitHub repository and then submitted a code change (Pull Request). Jetpack developers were kind enough to review and approve the code change request I submitted. It was slated for Jetpack 8.5.
